The CHESHIRE COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONND has awarded CETMA grant funding to provide some much needed gardening and coffee morning activities over the next year.

The Gardens and Cuppas project will set up gardening opportunities for people who have been suffering from mental health problems.  It will also provide participants with the opportunity to sit, have a cuppa and talk gardens.

The project will support people living in Pembrey and Burry Port, Kidwelly, St Ishmaels, Trimsaran, and Llangyndeyrn.  It will also be working with Llanelli local organisations such as LGBTQ+ Support group, Yo Yos Kidz Club.

Project officer Laura Williams said:

“We have the Megan and the Food Squad’s Garden in Kidwelly which has been created to provide extra healthy and nutritious food for PBP Foodbank.  Not only that, but we’re developing another growing site which will provide even more community food.”

“We’ll be running regular gardening and coffee morning sessions and recruiting volunteers to help out on the project.”

There is no charge for activities and there’s also the possibility of providing suitable clothing for the volunteers. The session will be running in Kidwelly and Laura Added;

“Our gardens are spaces where volunteers go to help improve their mental health and Megan’s Garden has had excellent feedback from everyone who has visited it£
