Following recent water quality readings in Cardiff Bay, we have identified concerning levels of harmful bacteria. Due to our primary focus on the safety of participants, staff, and safety teams, we have made the difficult decision to relocate the event.
We are pleased to announce that the GBSUP Cardiff Stadium Pursuit event will now take place at Llandegfedd Reservoir on the same date, May 5th, 2024. The event schedule will now be able to include the exciting afternoon program of Junior technical racing and adult technical sprints, thanks to the new venue at Llandegfedd Reservoir. This was previously impossible due to afternoon access restrictions at Cardiff Bay.
On the Basis of Safety
Our decision to relocate stems from an abundance of caution. The recent water quality readings in Cardiff Bay indicate an unacceptable level of risk, and we cannot prioritise this event over the safety of everyone involved.
