These are the world’s most popular F1 Circuits of all time, according to Instagram

The F1 2023 season has broken records this year with a 23-race calendar, along with the Las Vegas Grand Prix returning for the first time since 1982. Ultimately giving F1 fans even more opportunity to witness the incredible races in different locations.

Ahead of the Australian Grand Prix coming up this weekend (April 2nd), Touch Casino gathered a seed list of all circuits from past races, and utilised Instagram hashtag data to uncover the most popular F1 courses on Instagram worldwide.

Key findings:

The Suzuka Circuit is the most popular F1 Circuit on Instagram, with 254,111 hashtags.
The UK’s Silverstone Circuit is the tenth most popular F1 Circuit on Instagram with 63,596 hashtags.
The US’s Circuit of the Americas and Indianapolis Motor Speedway Circuit have both made it to the top 10 in the ranking.

Japan’s Suzuka Circuit is the most popular F1 course on Instagram

Touch Casino can reveal that Suzuka Circuit in Japan is the most popular F1 course on Instagram, with 254,111 Instagramhashtags. This course has held 31 races since 1987, and will return for this year’s season in September. The Suzuka Circuit is one of the few courses to have a figure-8 layout, with 17 turns, making it quite a challenging race.

In second place is Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, with an impressive 127,689 Instagram hashtags, 7,701 more hashtags than Circuit of the Americas in third place. This 5.554 km long Circuit was completed by Max Verstappen in record time (1:26.103) in 2021.

In third place is Circuit of the Americas with 119,988 Instagram hashtags, 51,795 more than fellow US circuit Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in seventh place with#68,193.

In fourth place is Mugello Circuit in Italy with 108,018 Instagram hashtags. Although Mugello Circuit has only held one F1 World Championship Grand Prix in 2020, it surprisingly has 87,211 more Instagram hashtags than Autodromo Nazionale Monza in 17th place (#20,807). However, Monza has held the most F1 races at 71.

In fifth place is Circuit Paul Ricard in France with 82,048 Instagram hashtags. This is #18,452 more than the UK’s Silverstone course in tenth place with 63,596 hashtags, despite having held 39 more races.

The UK’s Silverstone Circuit is the 10th most Instagrammed F1 course

Silverstone Circuit is the tenth most popular F1 course on Instagram, with 63,596 hashtags. This course held the first ever F1 race in 1950, and since then has held 56 races. In 23rd place is the UK’s Brands Hatch Circuit with 15,597 hashtags (47,999 fewer than the Silverstone Circuit).
